Admin Notes & January On-Ramp!

A few quick notes first:
  • Whole30 Info Meeting.  Reminder, TODAY at 1630 in the Bubble the IMCF/Results community is holding an info session on the Whole30 program.  Many of us have already started...come share your experiences thus far and share ideas.  For anyone new or interested in the program, it'll be a great way to learn more and get some basic info on getting started. 
  • Stay Healthy! A quick reminder to take care of yourself and others. Flu season is in full swing, and there's plenty of other stuff getting passed around this time of year with post-holiday travel and as kids get back to school. Need proof? Just take a walk through the peds/pharmacy section of Munson any morning. Make liberal use of the hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes in the Bubble, and if you're not in the habit already start bringing a hand towel in. Give that medball a wipedown before and after you use it, you sweaty beasts.  Same for pull-up bars, barbells, etc...
  • USAW Sports Performance CourseFor those interested, there is a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Course (aka Level 1 cert) scheduled 31Jan-1Feb at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS.  Cost is $495, see here for course details and registration links.  My understanding is that it is a great program, but do your homework and ask around to see if it's what you're looking for before investing the $.
Which brings us to...

If you're just getting into the IMCF workouts, or are interested and want to know more about CrossFit (talking to you, incoming Winter Class!) you can't miss the On-Ramp class. The next class will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 0830 - 1230 at the Harney Bubble Gym. Guess what...it's free!  Spread the word to your friends, family, and co-workers.

On-Ramp classes cover the fundamental concepts, foundational movements, and nutritional basis which underpin all CrossFit training. This four-hour class is a perfect start to beginning a functional fitness routine and will prepare you to safely complete the Iron Major CrossFit workout of the day (WOD). The classes are done in small groups which enables detailed individual coaching. There is no obligation from completing these classes.  More details are available via the "Start Here" tab above.
