Friday 06.28.13

"Tons o' Fun"
For time, two person teams perform deadlifts and power cleans to lift a total of 16 tons.

Coach's Notes. (standard times of 0545, 0630, and 0800)

Two restrictions for this one:
1) Each member must lift at least 6 tons of the team's total weight and
2) A minimum of 3 tons must be lifted by each movement (i.e. no lifting all 16 tons via DL).

For a co-ed team or a team with two female athletes, please scale the weight total and distribution accordingly.

Back Squat (1RM ~300lb)
5x5 @ 225lb

Then:

Strength!!

Back Squat 305x5x3 (five sets of three)

Press 140x5x3

Deadlift 350x1x5

Sets of 3 were easier (yeah that's relative) to accomplish, but they take longer to get through!!

Press was really strong today, those sets reps were fast and strong.

Deadlift was brutally hard, but then again, it's supposed to be.

So furlough Fridays are affecting the bubble and Harney gym from what I can tell. So starting on like 08JUL13 I think the bubble will be closed on Fridays. That means that our team WODs are going to have to be outside gymnastics stuff. Jake's Gym will have to re-open for business.
