General

If anyone who has applied for a scholarship and missed last weeks meeting there will be another meeting at 0600 on Friday. If you really can't make that then post to comments with a preferred afternoon time and we can meet then.

Games WOD 12.1

Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of:
Burpees

The movement standards are here. Or watch the video. Note, for each bupree  jump needs to touch and object six inches above your max reach. I will bring in some string to put up between the pull bars as the six inch marker.

If you are a member of the IMCF games team you have until Sunday 1900 to complete the WOD. Your options for completing it are:

- Turn up to the bubble and WOD. Each athlete must have a level one coach observe that they perform the WOD IAW the movement standards. You then submit the result on the website (exactly how we aren't sure yet - more to follow - but like last year it will be pretty self explanatory).

- Go to any other registered affiliate and do it. For example if you are away over spring break this might be an option.

- Video your workout and submit. Be aware - there are strict criteria and instructions and rules - see mainsite for more detail.

Question on the L1 scholarship. The website says for CGSC/SAMS students only, so I haven't applied. I noticed a flyer in the bubble today that said scholarships open to anybody to apply. Can you clarify please?

Hoping to hold off the family bug for a few more hours, til I can knock out tomorrows WOD. Planning on being at the bubble @ 0600.

Air Force Steve said...

See you there Amy. Yeah Burpees!

Alex E. said...

Matt B,

Anyone can apply. However the vast majority go to individuals associated with CGSC. We have a few that are given to individuals who don't meet this criteria. So in short everyone is eligible there are just more available for individuals who meet certain criteria (affiliated with CGSC).

Debbie said...

I will be in tomorrow to help judge around 0545 and need to leave by 0645

Soraya and I are doing the games WOD tomorrow morning. We will also be in the bubble today at 1600 to assist anyone else doing the WOD today.

Having problem submitting score. It won't let me select affiliate. Anyone else having same problem or just me? Thanks!

Greg M said...

96 Burpees for me this morning. Graded by Big Mike, thanks for the push John G.

Ed said...

93 for me, graded by James.

I also graded Eddie Brown and Sean Sullivan. Sean is our TDY brother from CrossFit Fort Benning, not sure how his scoring confirmation works...

Ed said...

@Julie - and anyone else with issues on the games site.

I just submitted mine and it worked. In the box where you type in the affiliate, just start typing "Iron Major CrossFit" - at some point it should give you a drop box in which you can select our name.

james said...

Julie et al - don't be surprised if the website is clunky this morning. If it isn't rectified by later in the day I will contact HQ.

Elizabeth - I couldn't find anything about resubmitting scores - if an athlete intends to do it again I suggest they don't submit there score until they have made their last attempt

james said...

Sean and Ed - Sean should submit like anyone else but also select IMCF as his affiliate - I will validate him

65 was my final count. Thanks Rob(?) for keeping my count!

84 for me. Thanks to everyone who gave up time to judge. It was good to meet a lot of people this morning. You all are so welcoming that I actually thought for a few seconds about getting up earlier to work out with the morning group...

Erin, Meg and whoever else isn't doing the workout today - we would love to get a group together for tomorrow morning. John and I will be in around our usual 0530, so we can warm up and start grading and motivating eachother sometime around 0545. We can probably stay until 0640 or so. I am still super sore from thrusters and abmat stuff, so today we are also going in at 1600 to see if anyone needs help grading and to work on mobility and loosening sore muscles.

Great work everyone on some impressive numbers this morning!

How long am I allowed to blame my results on the elevation?!

Worked out with an OG OLD School IMCF, MAJ Josh Davis. One of the originals for those of you who have been around that long.

Awesome numbers by all. Keep it up and stay \m/etAL!

My legs are sore from Mon - Wed WODs. Elizabeth handed me her foam roller and insited I work the IT bands before today's WOD...painful experience but thanks Elizabeth; it helped. Debbie was my grader for a total of113reps. Mayabe I had a few more if I hadn't done Monday's WOD!! I'm glad this WOD is over.

Greg E said...

I will be in the bubble a little after 1600 if any one needs to be graded today.

Greg I think I may take you up on Sunday for a 2nd iteration of this WOD pending how tonight turns out.

Cut the workout short...think I'm starting to get whatever is floating around in L&C.

James: Is Sunday a drop dead deadline for the WOD? Or is it possible to get it in Mon morning if I feel like a warmed over turd tomorrow morning?

Wade said...

90 - graded by Chris C.

Greg, I might take you up on your Sunday offer for a re-do...will the bubble be open?

james said...

No problem Chad - we can work it out for next week.

Lance - results must be submitted by Sunday 7pm. However, there is no minimum score. If you feel wretched tmw we can have you do 3 burpees and submit that as your score. it won'tr affect the team and will keep you in the comp.

Did 90 burpees with a couple no reps and 30 sec left. Hit the floor from lack of oxygen. I guess o2 is a good thing. Mad at myself for not controlling my breathing. Couldve knocked out a few more.
