James - The CF site says the first games WOD will be posted on Wed. the 22nd. I know you are excited, but I need a couple more days to get rid of my flu bug. What is it with me getting sick right before CF games!?!

It worked out well the last time, so maybe it is an omen!! :)

Tiffany said...

Haha. Yeah that is true! Lets just hope pukie is gone by then or else I'm working out by the door...again.

james said...

quite right Tiffany, my excitement is back in its box and I have fixed the date

I'll be in the Bubble around 0900 if anyone wants to meet up then to do the WOD. Side note, Thrusters and I do not get along.

Eisenhower Library was great. We stayed longer than I thought and still could have stayed longer. I got home to late to go to the bubble for Monday's WOD so I did it in the basement...UGLY! My kids were wondering what sort of animal was being slaughtered in their play area! 9:10 as Rx'd

I'm uglier than Rob... and still out of breath. Thanks for the posts on burpees. You inspired me to overcome "eh, guess I missed today" to "go get 'em" Sets of 10 for 150 burpees. 15:57 for time. Never done more than 80 or so, and never for time, so a double win tonight. What's our IMCF war cry? Google suggests "gala iecesson." must be latin.

Anybody on the IMCF team resting the next two days? I am. Maybe some light cardio and skills work tomorrow and nothing on Wed. Definitely not doing death by thrusters tomorrow. Thoughts?

Greg M said...

Amy, I am with you, not totally resting, but I am working skills tomorrow after Meg, kicked my butt today with her team WOD. I am going to work on DUs, MUs and Handstand PUs. Maybe after I might do a tabata. I also have a basketball game tomorrow so that will do for my cardio.

Someone was asking about Jacob Hepner's email. He should be back at school right now, but he's been working down the hall from me over summer/winter breaks. I'll see if someone has his school address. Who should I email it to?

IMCF Hohenfels:

11 reps at 11 min

Failed at 12 min; then 7 reps for 13-20 min

subbed BW bench for thrusters - failed in the 8th round - did some scaled rounds after that

Alex E or Rich M or whomever - I have probably missed something but is there a schedule out for pair day?

Debbie said...

13 thrusters right at 13:02 or 03 so I am going to count it!

Thanks Rob for the push

Doug said...

I need to do more thrusters - they are always hard on me. 8 rds plus a few in the 9th minute @ #95.

Dan said...

Made it to 8 right at the buzzer. Certainly less than I'd hoped for, but sure didn't feel short changed...

Mike Anderson said...

7 reps into the 11th round.

Tony said...

Full 8 and a couple into 9. Usually use DB for thruster, so this was more challenging than I though going into it.

Ross said...

Made it through 14 with 10secs to spare but only got 6 reps into 15...

Mac said...

12 rounds of miserable, painful thrusters, as rx'd. Don't underestimate the thruster...

Gwen and I partnered up this morning...we could have used a bigger group to help us get through the tough parts. She won't post anything so I'll tell you that her form was consistently near perfect and she completed 8rds. I was 13rds, but I was not happy that I was short of 14rds. I got 10reps into the 14th round and with some coaching/encouragement I think I could have got 4 more. There is power in WODing as a group. I'm still trying to find a few who are wanting to work together with a start time of 0545ish. It's an open invitation to all; experienced/inexperienced, male/female, young/old, in-shape/out of shape, etc. There is strength in numbers.

Kay said...

Hooray for Gwen! I'm so proud of you!

IMCF Pentagon: I made it to 3 reps in round 10. I strongly recommend having a goal for your WOD in mind before starting out, and make sure it is a challenging goal. I had it in my mind that I wanted to get to the 10th minute; I made it. However, I think I could have gone more, but since I made my goal, when I started the 11th minute, I started making excuses in my head on why I should quit - my wrists were sore, I wanted to keep good form, etc. So, if I had a higher goal for myself, I probably could have gone for more rounds.

Set a high (realistic but challenging) goal for yourself before you start, and that should help you push yourself, especially if you WOD alone (like I do).

9 rnds and 5 reps into 10. Still feeling the burpees from last night.

Jay Luck said...

11 at the buzzer

Jess said...

Rounds 1-3 started with 45#- dropped to 35# for rounds 4-10 IOT maintain good form. Failed on first rep for round 11

Jamie Z said...

Barbara as Rx'd in 32:27

Meg Smith said...

Successfully made it through 9...hit 10 at 10:18 so I can't justify that as acceptable wiggle room. :-)

Tough to work on a goat, but glad I did it anyway.

Erin Anderson said...

11 rounds, a few of the last ones I couldn't quite lock out so they would have been no reps.

Nice job Debbie! That is impressive!

Jess, didn't I take your bar? I thought it was the 33# bar with 10s on it. Then I added two 5s. So I thought that would be 63. (2 short but there r not 1# weights.)

Jake78 said...

Did Barbara today only 3 rounds though - long weekend and recovering shoulder!

19:20

Take care,
Jake

Rich V. said...

Did the Jamie z work scaled by half 33 min

Susi S said...

10 rounds as Rx'd and then 2 further rounds at 45lbs.

Matt B. said...

6 rounds as Rx'd, plus 3 into the next round. Big win was choosing to do a strength workout as Rx. I usually lower the weight to get more reps/sets/time. However, reading about everyone else pushing themselves, and knowing that I'm stepping up to the CFG was accountability to step it up. My new mantra for the folks who keep telling me I'm a CF stud, "I'm not strong and I'm not fast, but I'm stronger and faster than I was yesterday."

Jess said...

Erin,
Yes you took my bar but I thought I had the 15# bar but it could have been the 33# one...if so then obviously my weights are a little higher :-)

Awesome job Debbie getting 13 today!
