102611 WEDNESDAY

General announcements.

The next fundamentals course is planned to be 03 Dec 11 - 0830 - 1030. We are looking for:

- Someone to act as the head cheese and promote/organise this thing. (this does not mean you teach
  everything/just organise the event)- Trainers to help the head cheese;
- A PR guy/promoter to help the head cheese;

If you are any of these please say so on comments.

There is also an idea floating around for an IMCF games on 10 Dec 11. If anyone would like to make this happen ...then please do so.

Questions to James/Greg or comments.

Barbell for Boobs organization has re-opened the IMCF link in case anyone still wanted to donate and receive a T-Shirt. It is $35 and for a great cause.

WOD

Swim

10 Rounds for time: 50 yards (2 lengths)

However long it took to swim the 50 yards, halve that time for the rest time between rounds. Example:

50 yrds in 50 sec, rest 25 sec before starting next 50 yards.

If you don't have a pool do:

10 rounds for time
Sprint 100m
Rest 90 seconds

Question re B4B. If I register on the IMCF site online, will they mail the shirt to me? I am in GA, so swinging by the Bubble isn't an option for me :)

I have the 31 heroes shirts. I will bring them to the bubble friday morning or contact me at james.davis143@us.army.mil for another arrangement.

Bill and Dionne - tell me your sizes and I can drop them at your place.

Greg/James:

I won't be there tomorrow as I am under the weather. I confirmed with the pool and they will have two lanes reserved for Iron Major starting at 0530 and ending at 0630. I hope the turnout is better than the last swim workout. If not, might have to post an article on bias . . .

Happy to help out on 3rd. Have fun in the pool!

For all those who say I am biased...I swam today, so let that serve as an example.

I can help with the DEC 3 class. Should be a good time as always.

Ed said...

I can also help on the 3rd.

I'll be the PR guy unless someone else wants it. ILE should slow down by then and we will have the new class starting up.

I'll help on 3 DEC also.

Thanks Greg, I did notice the 97% drop off in attendance last time a swim was posted.

oh one more fundamentals thing - any CPC qualified coaches out there - I am looking for people to run coaches training.

Finished up in 14:36 ... Stayed pretty consistent for each lap so pretty happy with that. Time will drop as I'm continue to train. Thanks to everyone who has been giving me tips and helping me out with form and encouragements!

Great to push myself in the pool. It was nice to stretch our muscles from Monday & Tuesday workouts. Thank you for the total body workout.

I will attend the 3 DEC class, thank you guys for putting it together!

10:55. Always enjoy the pool workouts.

I'm down to help out on the 3rd. I like the idea of being the promoter guy...hopefully we can get the word out and pack the bubble.

This morning I saw splits from :54 to 1:03. Failed to keep total time, but I'm guessing I averaged ~ minute of swimming and 30 seconds of rest x 10. Puts me in the 15 minute ballpark.

Lastly, we had at least five CrossFitters in the pool between 0630-0700, which seems to be a reasonable turnout for that time of day.

16 ish minutes in the pool. I really need to learn that relaxed pool breathing thing. That was confirmed when the life guard told me about swim lessons after the workout! So, if you aren't a strong swimmer know you are not alone!

All I managed to track were splits. Fastest was 39 seconds and maintained 40 second iterations for most laps. My last two crept up to about 48 seconds. I personally like the swimming. Its a good change.

Just a warning, I'm going to need some AI's for the next A910 elective tentatively scheduled for the last week of November. Details to follow, if any of the new L1s want to speak up for specific topics, let me know.

I'll be out of town on the 3rd or I'd take lead if you neecessary, and I'm hitting the pool later today, promise.

I'll help with the Coaches Prep for the Foundations.

I'm a no go for 3 DEC as I will be back in Columbia. April, I'll take the nutrition part of the next A910.

Ed said...

April, if you have the dates for A910 I can probably help with whatever isn't covered.

Swimming this morning was (yet) another exercise in trying to beat the water into submission. This was in roughly 1 minute bursts. Apologies to Debbie who had to slow down to accomodate my laboring across the pool. Efficiency in the pool continues to escape me.

Today I had my APFT. I have to agree with the observations from last week that our peers are sadly not physically fit. Scored 328 with pretty minimal effort today, so I guess CF is working well for me.

Unfortunately, John and I are out of town in San Antonio on 3 December, but I am happy to assist in the 910 class for whatever is necessary, either topic lectures or otherwise.

Roughly 14 mins for the swim today. Fastest lap was 40", slowest was 55", most were around 50".

I will be in San Diego for the fundamentals on 03 Dec.

I can help out with A910 in Nov as I should be in town. I did one this past spring.

April-
I can help out with the A910. I will look for you tomorrow morning.
