102111 FRIDAY

'Barbells for Boobs'

'Grace'

For time:
30 clean and jerks (135/95)

If you haven't signed up its not too late. Go here and follow the prompts to do it. If you haven't signed up you can still do the workout.

If you can't make it in in the morning I know Meg Smith is doing it at 0930 with her group.

We will do this as a group for the Morning wave and cheer each other on. First wave around 0545ish. Greg will go over some techniques for Clean and Jerk around 0530. See you there.

This should be fun!!!

Anyone else going to be in the bubble in the afternoon? I am planning on 1630. Figure this might be a good workout to group up on and get a little energy going.

Don't forget to bring payment for your sweatshirt. I'll be in the bubble from 0530-0630 Friday morning.

I also will be in the bubble at 1630 to collect payment from those who come in the afternoon. Email me or post on the blog that you'll pay at 1630 so I know to meet you there (and so I can order your sweatshirt). Let me know BEFORE 1230 Friday! kwakatake@gmail.com

G. Scott - there is a big clean up planned for the bubble at 1630 - you will still be able to workout but you will also have a crowd to cheer you on !!

L1 trainers for the weekend - this is your reminder that the cleanup is on at the bubble at 1630 today.

As Rx'd...3:00. Great workout for a great cause.

3:43 with 83# bar. Thanks Greg for the additional math exercise to figure out my time.

4:18 Rx'd.

Found that I slowed way down when I let the bar drop, should have just kept my hands on the bar and used a bit of energy to control it to the ground and not have to reset my hands each time.

I informed my wife that I have to give her check ups on her girls throughout the day for "Barbell for Boobs", I don't think she is buying it though.

5:12 as RX'd

I concur with Ed - dropping the bar cost me a lot of time on the last 10 or so reps.

Mike said...

I did it in 5:12.

I'm not good with computers and posted under Erin's account. All this fancy technology gets the better of me sometimes.

Greg - Good luck on the checkups.

nice work Lance and Greg!! well nice work pretty much everyone. Again lonely vigil in the bubble - I know if I keep asking one day Calvin is just going to pick up a bar and get at it.

Still resting my calf after a painful cramp earlier this week...anyone who uses a foam roller consistently knows the pain I've been putting myself through ever since.

Anyway, knocked out a "Josh" this morning to let the calf rest:
21-15-9 95lb OH squats
42-30-18 pull ups

9:30.

Awesome turnout for the Boobs this morning! Barbells were flying and motivation was inspiring. Good luck to LVL 1 students this weekend! Drink plenty of water, and invest in some bengay or tiger balm...

Did 75# at 6:30, but thought I miscounted. Did it again after my morning group in 6:00. Definitely will do 85# next time. Great work everyone!

135# - 3 min and 15 sec, but as Noah can attest, my form, and coordination are lacking, I basically made the movement a power clean and push press. Still learning....

4:45 with not nearly enough weight (worked on form). I need to push a little harder next time. Thanks to everyone for the help today!

7:07 Scaled to 115#.
Great WOD for Great Cause!!! Here's to all you ladies out there.

Followed by 30 min on Ellitpical and DU / HS work.

So tried this scaled down to 65 lbs and managed to do it in roughly 5 min. Started with standard cf warmup but rowed 500 m instead of running 400. Did a couple practice reps with just the bar to ensure my technique was ok. Halfway thru I was hurting! Great WOD today!
