PAIR Day Recap!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Iron Major CrossFit table at PAIR day.  For those we talked to, we threw a lot of information at you about what CrossFit is, how it works, what Iron Major CrossFit is and a whole lot of other bits.

Here is a re-cap of the most important points of Iron Major CrossFit.

1- We are a CrossFit community- committed to helping each other achieve our fitness goals.  If you are new to CrossFit or just new to our affiliate- you are not in this alone.

2- We all have to start somewhere.  Many of you were truly concerned that you "didn't have much physical ability" to do CrossFit.  Some have injuries and weren't sure what you could do.  Others had different fitness programs and were not sure CrossFit is right for you.  We have ALL been there and shared the same concerns.  You will never know what you can do until you take the first step and try.  And when you think you are alone- refer to #1.

3- We have large groups doing the Workout of the Day (WOD) usually at 0530 until 0700.  There are other groups that do the WODs at various times of the day.  When in doubt, and if you want to make sure there is a level 1 trainer to help you, post a good time for you to workout, and we'll see if a trainer can assist.

4- EVERYTHING can be scaled.  Don't be intimidated by weights or reps or rounds or numbers at all.  Just come in....someone will help you do it right and safely.

5- When you come into the gym, please sign in on the sheet on the table.  This is for a couple of reasons- first it is to make sure we let the post know just how committed we are to CrossFit, which keeps the gym open and the equipment maintained.  Secondly...that is a ceremonial "check" of the ego.  Your name on the paper is your pledge to leave the ego at the door....that you won't violate #4.  The ego is what is going to make CrossFit very dangerous...trying to do too much, too fast, too soon.  So, check the ego, and then get to work in the gym.

6- Iron Major CrossFit is completely FREE!!!

If you came by the table and want to come out---please post to the blog and let us know your name and we'll be looking for you this week!!!  If you are still not sure, please post us a question-someone will respond to you either on the blog, or directly by email if you wish!

For all the "veterans" out there....there will likely be a lot of new faces in the coming weeks.  Show them the best part of the Iron Major CrossFit community....greet them and make them feel welcome.  Then get them started on their CrossFit journey.

3...2...1.....GO!
