That sucked! The one day I decided to workout with you guys and you put me through G.I. Jane! My time was lousy (16:04) and my hands are ripped but overall, now that I'm home I feel pretty good. I'll see ya tomorrow. Thanks.

I was relying on the big red clock, and they reset it during my suffering. My backup analog watch put me at about 15 minutes (+/- 30s). I still feel like there are red hot ambers in my lungs.

Neal, thanks for the push, you easily shaved off a couple minutes. I found that 3 sets of 30, and then dig down for the last ten was a mentally favorable technique for this. However, it still sucked.

24:47. (Note to self for next time...11:45 for 1-50, 13:02 for 51-100).

16:16; good WOD, hadn't ever done Jane.

Yay burpees!

22:08 the first 50 in 10:25. I didn't vomit so I probably could have gone faster.

James...WRT the Level I Cert in March, is there a possibility that Big Army may "fund" some individuals to attend the cert similar to what they did this past Aug?

all kinds of fun on handstands...agree with James, actually did get better 40+ secs in.

Noah - yes, standby for details. At the outside I suggest that your longevity in Lvn is a positive in this regard.

First time for me, 18:50 at a steady pace. Had to step up using 3 bumper plates for pullups, which slowed me down somewhat. Am I height challenged or are the bars too high?

Warmed up with stuff I suck at: Pistols, hand stands, and some 70# KB work (farmer and waiter walks).

Great WOD. First time every doing GI Jane. It seemed like that bar was getting higher every 10 reps. There is a great crew at IMCF. Thanks all for welcoming Dionne and I.

12:55; speaking of the bar getting higher on each rep, at 5'6" I was jumping a long way, I'm sure it looked comical!

Hand stands are coming along; I got coaching from Chad Rambo a while back; I was able to get 10 - 15sec; what still needs work is that most of those seconds are not stationary - I am walking to stay on my hands; key take aways from Chad's coaching were to keep a tight body position with toes trying to push through the ceiling, keep your head down i.e. don't look at the ground with your eyes, and use your hands to 'grip' the floor and adjust body movements through your hands and not the torso

Was feeling froggy, so doubled up today (Wednesday), doing Tuesday's Press-Push Press-Push Jerk workout (did GI Jane - slowly - this morning; see above post).

Press: 135(3) - 145(3) -155(2 - failed on last rep)
Push Press: 160(3) - 170(3) - 185(3)
Push Jerk: 190(3) - 200(2) - 210(F) - 210(2) - 215(1)

Switched to split jerks for the last set of three of Push Jerk, as I failed on the third rep of 200 doing "regular" jerk. Failed on first attempt - didn't open my hips all the way before driving under the bar (or attempting to). Managed to get 210 twice. (Caveat to this that I couldn't control the weight on the way down, so I dropped it. Since I didn't have anyone with me, I had to unload to 135, clean it back up to the rack, then re-load the weight. I did all of this as fast as I could, but it definitely added time in-between reps. And on the last rep, I just threw on some 2.5lb plates.)

Was very happy with this, as my previous 1RM Push Jerk (recorded) was 185 in February 09.

Something must be working. Still need to work on form, though.

17:56 with Bill. Bill- great having you and Dionne on board! Gents- good push this morning...I didn't quit like I thought and my knee feels pretty good. I'll take it slow on the squats tomorrow.

Greg- congrats brother- another year of doing this together!!

Greg said...

Rich and James congrats to you both as well. The best part is I get to do crossfit with IMCF for another year.

Dave said...

And also congrats to Steve Olson and Jamie Zanella. IMCF will have quite the body of both scholars and athletes for another year and a half.

(No, I didn't say scholars and gentlemen...that was on purpose, hehe.)

Rich said...

That's correct...my apologies to Jamie and Steve- although I don't think they are IMCF bloggers.

Rich,
I blog...but I am a man of few words.
