Completed 20rds and got 13 pull-ups into 21st round; my left elbow joint is sore so I'm icing it today; this was the first time I kipped for this WOD; my PR with straight pull-ups was 13or 14; working with the group this morning really helped pull me along - thanks

SCALING - I had a conversation with two different people this morning about scaling. Scaling any work out is not as indication of inadequacy or of 'lesser' anything. It is an incredible tool to help athletes IWCABTMD - that's the bottom line for any of us. I don't like to scale and I complain about it but I'm not embarrassed about it. Sometimes I won't run (sub a row) because my ankle is killing me. Ring dips torture my shoulder so I do HSPU. I can do muscle ups but it hurts so I sometimes do a sub. Scaling is an awesome tool to help me make gains. Whether you are subing an exercise or modifying the weight, number of reps or time just the fact that you are 'in the arena' competing speaks volumes about your character.

POSTING - During the same conversations I heard that there was reluctance to post on this blog because of not 'being ready'. I believe that every post is value added to the IMCF functional fitness community. There are a lot of 'lurkers' out there who come to the web site and read the posts (I talk to lots of folks who do this). I assume they keep coming back to read because it helps them. It is good to hear from all points of view - the experienced and the beginner. The experienced guy benefits from the beginner's post because he listen's with a 'coach's ear and it can make him a better coach. The beginner gets direct feedback on his questions. To be sure there are other benefits. So all you 'lurkers' sign up for an account and start posting your thoughts, questions, ideas, etc. and help out our awesome functional fitness community.

took my APFT first; maxed pushups/situps in the first minute
run was a little slow 16:00; but I still feel a little sick and haven't really been able to catch my wind all month.
did death by pullups afterwards: made it through 13 and 10 on 14. didn't have tape and my grip is paying the price now.

9 rounds complete and couldn't finish the 10 within the one minute standard. I made sure to get a good "warm-up" in because of the fact that I am still very much a novice when it comes to pullups. I am encouraged by the fact that I wouldn't have even thought about attempting this WOD a couple of months ago.

completed 14 rounds, and got 10 on the 15th round when time ran out.

Rob, what about us midpackers who post? I lurked for awhile, and haven't posted in a couple weeks because it just seemed like I couldn't find the time.

If you won't post because your score is low, keep in mind that crossfit is "inclusive fitness". Discussing your scores here is not like posting poor PT scores for others to see. This is about learning and celebrating the small victories that we all seek, no matter where we fall on the spectrum of fitness.

Got 17 deep into the next round before time ran out.

Completed 20 rounds and got 19 pull-ups into 21st round when time ran out. Great WOD to do with the group this AM.

Just want to echo everything Rob and Brandon said about scaling and posting. Set all your CF worries aside and come out and join us...while there will always be a healthy level of competition at IMCF, we're totally focused on helping each other get better every day...that's what it's really all about.

Didn't do the WOD today since I had the Marine Corps CFT. After only three months of CF saw significant improvement on all three events of the CFT. Guess there is something to this!

James, see you in the morning.

I wasn't feeling too strong today...did a good warm up and made it through round 9. Pull ups have been a challenge for me, and I've been working on them the last few months.
