As Rxed - 18:15. PR by 0:02s. I am pretty sure that is not a statistically significant improvement.

And to further my personal feelings of inadequacy, the world record for Men's 800m freestyle is 7:32.2. So I swim, at my fastest 800m pace to date, at 41% pace of the world record. . .

Jeff, 41%? "So you're telling me there's a chance!"

At least you can swim 800m...I thought about stealing my kid's floaties this morning and bringing them with me.

I went this morning to do a swim work out..
Did 300m fly
150 kick, 150 pull
Then knocked out the 800m 16:52 as rx'ed.. that puts me at 45% on the Jeff Paine scale.. and yes.. Im saying theres a chance!

Jeff- You're an Olympian compared to my 30:22. Perhaps if my legs did not trail along behind me like sonar buoys, I might be more efficient.

it's time to sign up for some coaching.

For comparison sake, when was the last date we did this WOD?

Swam 1600m. I need more time in the water. My technique is poor.

38:26

We did this WOD last on 10 February 2010 if you are looking to compare.

If you sign up for and use Beyond the Whiteboard, it will tell you such things, including when you did it last, what the difference was, and if you posted a PR.

I'm just sayin'. . .

This morning: 2 mile skill run to work on pose. Using metronome found 85 to be a comfortable cadence.

After lunch: 800m swim in 17:10

400 warm-up with some added drills

Time: 12:04-- 1:30.25 avg 100 pace. To put this into perspective as a former collegiate swimmer that sucks!! Obviously taking years off is definately a VERY BAD idea :)

Jeff- let me in to BTWB as well please

Fastest 100: 1:21
Slowest 100: 1:55

Nick, way to be CV.
Shanon, thanks for sharing the lane.

NIck and Shannon - you are both in on BTWB. Sorry about the delay. I have not been in the habit of checking until, well, today right now.

Anybody else want to join?

Flashbacks to Plebe Drowning....

24:37....had to basically stop every 50m so the lifeguard wouldn't have to come in after me and fill out a bunch of paperwork.

P.S. Not to make everyone feel worse about themselves.....but Shannon pointed out to me that Harney is actually a 25-yard pool, meaning that I actually only swam 727 m in that really slow time......

J. O'B said...

Jeff, please add me in BTWB.

17:26- 23 seconds slower than last time... don't know why.

I'd like into the BTWB gym too.

30:46 as rx'd

- I did set a world record for myself today of swimming 250m straight of crawl. But what's it tell you when I swim faster with a sidestroke than I do with a crawl? I should have grabbed to floaties...

Made up the Backsquat and deadlift metcon from yesterday. That was fun. Posted times and weights there.

GREAT, so think I was short but what I thought was rx'd-14:54, adding average laps would actually be like 19-20min neighborhood. Turns out, Shannon is really not THAT slow!

Glen - You didn't miss a thing today! Hope your "appt" went well.......

Jeff - How do I get BTWB? Thx-Josh
