This reminded me how much I hate rowing machines,
1:40, 1:42, 1:46, 1:50, 1:51, 1:48

The days of being a varsity rowing are CLEARLY over!

Got some good instruction on the row machine today. Now I know how to properly punish myself with this implement.

Just for general info, I was asked what a good time for a trained, varsity oarsman/rower would be...

Honestly, I don't really recall, but my guess is in the low to mid 1:20s for 500s. Thoughts Jeff/Chris?

I remember good 2K times for our team got as low as 6:05 (for the freaks of nature) and solid times for most were in the 6:20-6:40 range, which would put their 500 splits at between 1:30 and 1:40, so I'm guessing they could drop another 5-10 seconds off for a 500m interval? But, again, I've banished those memories from my brain long ago!

Yes, varsity rowing days are far, far behind me. Ouch.

1:20 split sounds inhuman to me, especially six times, but maybe a pro could pull it. I just don't know anymore.

Smoker, especially the last two interations: 2:00, 1:57, 1:54, 1:53, 1:53, 1:53. Yes, anyone under 1:45 is an absolutely beast or really tall!
